The Family Trip team has a hint for you for a wonderful family trip near the city of Kranj.

Near old town of Kranj, is the Brdo Estate. We visit it many times ourselves, because nature surprises you every time. All seasons give the park a special image and some magical vital energy is in this green paradise. Romantic walk in the park under an umbrella, or catching children running playfully barefoot through the green of the park. Positives in the air at every turn.

You can walk around the park on foot or with children stroller. For young parents, a hint;) - the paths of the park are great for driving with a pushchair. Own bicycles are not allowed in the park, but visitors can rent them in the park.

Our means of transport, on the last visit, was a golf cart, and to the great enthusiasm of our youngest members of the family, we drove through the park, which has 70 hectares, by electric vehicle and stopped at several places where we picked up a blanket and picnic basket. Starting point: Take the Ljubljana - Jesenice motorway, and turn off at the Kranj vzhod exit. At the first roundabout, take the third exit towards Kranj. At the next roundabout at the Mercator store, take the first exit in the direction of Jezersko. Drive to the T-shaped crossroads by the village of Britof and turn left. At the traffic light intersection in Britof, go straight, then through the villages of Orehovlje and Predoslje to the entrance to the Brdo Estate on the right side, where you can leave your car at a large parking lot.

The Brdo Park is a charmingly arranged treasure trove of Carniolan aristocratic history. On a relaxing walk through the park grounds, you can admire the rich flora and fauna and get to see many sights, such as the Brdo Castle, the former castle dock, old orangery, valuable sculptural collection, a beehive with beehive panels painted by famous Slovenian painters and straw-covered hayracks. Children can observe many animals: Lipizzaner horses, swans, ducks, fish and various plants.

The protocol facility has a beautiful park that invites us for a walk all year, every day from dawn to dusk. The grass, water and forest environment all intertwine on the estate. To visit the park, you must pay an entrance fee at the hotel reception or at the entrance concierge. By making prior arrangements, you can hire a guide. On Sunday afternoons, you can take a horse-drawn carriage through the estate grounds.
