Route Description

Talež Hill is the perfect location for a hike with your whole family, even with grandpa and grandma.

The path climbs slowly and is pretty easy, however, it depends on who you ask ;) The hunting lodge is located on the lookout edge of the Jelovica Plateau near the Talež Hill. The hunting lodge, which operates as a mountain hut, has a beautiful view of the Bled Lake, the Gorenjska plain and part of the Karawanks (the Stol Mountain and its neighbouring peaks).

You can finish your trip here, or you can climb a little higher to the Tolsti Vrh Hill.

You can park at the Bodeški most Bridge or the Ribenski most Bridge, where we started the trip. As soon as you cross the bridge, the signposts point both left and right. To the left, the path is 10 minutes longer, but maybe a little more knee-friendly, and above all, wider. You can choose the path to the right, which is shorter and steeper.

The hunting lodge on the Talež Hill lies at 725 meters (2,378 feet) above sea level, and the Tolsti vrh Hill at 883 meters (2,896 feet) above sea level.

Interesting Facts

The Bled Castle is said to be the oldest castle in our territory and it is mentioned in sources as early as 1011. Perched atop a cliff towering 130 metres (426 feet) above Lake Bled, the castle rewards visitors observing the countryside from its lower courtyard with stunning views of Bled, its lake and the island. You can take a look at the castle printing house, the smithy and the chapel, where weddings take place. In the castle museum, a female clasp in the shape of a peacock, a bird of paradise, is exhibited, symbolizing the source of life and wealth.
