Route Description
Jezersko is a green valley surrounded by a wreath of the Savinja Alps, which were created in a lively earthly movement sixty million years ago. Discover a beautiful hiking trail in the village of Zgornje Jezersko together with your children. Beautiful nature, fresh air and good food are why we often come here. Usually the path takes us to the lake and from there we start the trip. A local farmer told us of a footpath that a child any age can manage. Leave the car in the larger parking lot in the village of Zgornje Jezersko (20 m/21 yards before the petrol station) and start your hike there. The path that goes by the Jezernica River has a beautiful view of the surrounding hills. In the Jezersko Valley, it likes to get cold and the sun hides quickly, whereas this trail has constant sunshine.

Slovenians are proud of our autochthonous breed, which is a part of our Slovenian natural and cultural heritage. In Jezersko and Solčava, sheep breeding in the past was massive and perfectly organized. This breed of sheep is medium sized with a markedly convex profile. The animals are mainly white in color and have black patches around their eyes, which may give them the appearance of wearing glasses.
