Bogata zbirka predmetov s pestro zgodovinsko pripovedjo, raznolikost fotografskega in arhivskega gradiva ter obsežna strokovna knjižnica vam nudijo vpogled v množičnost in pomembnost planinske dejavnosti v slovenskem prostoru.
Zbrane predmete, dokumente, fotografije, dogodke, pojave in pripovedi so vtkali v zgodbo o zgodovinskem razvoju planinske dejavnosti na Slovenskem. Z današnjim časom so jo povezali s sodobnimi avdio-vizualnimi pripomočki in z zabavnimi dopolnitvami posameznih vsebinskih sklopov. Čisto vsega vam ne izdamo, naj pa omenimo to, da smo se kar malce prestrašili ob simulaciji nevihte v gorah v bivaku. Prav vsak mlad planinec mora preiskusiti to zanimivo izkušnjo!
Prava izbira ustrezne obutve in opreme za izlet v gore je nadvse pomembna, zato je bilo našim otrokom najbolj zanimivo videti, kakšno opremo je nosil planinec v starih časih.
Uvodni film Svetlobe gora prikazuje lepote slovenske pokrajine in zbuja zavedanje o raznolikosti in bogastvu narave in je hkrati tudi povabilo v muzej in naš gorski svet.

Visit the Slovenian Alpine Museum in the village of Mojstrana. The permanent exhibition takes us through the history of Slovenian mountaineering, shows a safe path in the mountains, and offers a unique experience of a bivouac caught in a mountain storm.
The history of Slovenian mountaineering, imbued with patriotism, takes you from the beginnings of organized mountaineering to the first alpine ascents and the current top achievements of our climbers in Slovenian and foreign mountains. You can meet the first mountain guides, porters and makers of the trail, and mountain rescuers.
The museum even gives you instructions for safe hiking in the mountains. Just like in the hills, you can admire nature on our museum trail, the preservation of which we pay special attention to.
The trail around the exhibition is waymarked by the distinct Slovene trail blaze, named after its designer, Alojz Knafelc. It indicates the interactive sections where visitors can test their knowledge and collect stamps for each correct answer. Those who manage to collect all five are in for a treat. The exhibition or your museum mountain climb is a personal, hands-on experience of the Slovene mountains and their history, designed to be experienced just like the real mountain climb

If you are visiting in the winter months, then do stop by the Mojstrana Ski Slope where the kids can learn how to ski or sled down the hill.
They have an anchor ski lift and offer night skiing. The kids will burn up all of their energy levels while enjoying the snow, so do not worry about them falling asleep in the evening :).
