Discover rich nature in the middle of Ljubljana. Visit the Tivoli City Park and experience GREEN Ljubljana together with your children. We took advantage of a fine summer morning to visit our capital city of Ljubljana and experienced a beautiful family trip, which took place entirely to the taste of our youngest members. This meant a lot of running around and playing in the woods and meadows and mandatory snack stops.

The Tolmin Gorges are the lowest and probably the most beautiful entry point into the Triglav National Park. The circular path goes through the gorges of Tolminka and Zadlaščica riverbeds.

There are so many hills beckoning us to climb them and admire the views up there. Take a relaxing Sunday walk with your kids from the village of Nova Štifta to the Travna gora Mountain Hut.

Mirna is a small town with quite a few interesting sights. One of such landmarks is the magnificent castle (the locals call it the sleeping princess), which is currently unfortunately falling into ruin.

Rock shelters of the Karst ridge of Veli Badin at Sočerga are a great natural sight of Slovenia. These walls fall steeply towards the border crossing above the village of Mlini. The erosion that is evident here is the remainder of collapsed karst caves. It is not completely clear how they were formed, but it was probably a combination of tectonic, temperature and also corrosive events.

The Vipava River has a total of seven permanent springs and all are located right here in the town of Vipava. Its main sources are the Podskala and Podfarovž double springs, located only a few meters from the Main Square, behind Lanthieri's manor. The other sources of the river spring up behind Tabor, Podlipca, Jama and Sleženec. The Vipava River’s springs are unique in Europe due to their delta-like semblance. 

The Virje Waterfall is located on the Glijun Stream, near the village of Plužna. The Glijun Stream is one of the rare karstic springs that never dry up. The spring water, which emerges among many stones of glacial material, reaches up to 7ºC and is very cold. Nevertheless, many are brave enough to plunge into its depths.

Divje jezero Lake (Wild Lake) in Idrija is definitely one of the most enchanting locations in Slovenia. An interesting natural history trail along the Idrijca River leads us to this karst landmark.
